Spare a thought for the dolphins in Japan

Friends, It’s saddening to hear of these dolphin slaughters that are carried out in the Japanese fishing village of Taiji, year after year. The fishermen view the millions of concerned peoples of the world as outsiders, sticking our noses in where it isn’t welcome, but if we all stuck our noses into them, maybe we could get the world governing body to absolutely make things right and outlaw this practice. It is barbaric to not only slaughter these defenseless and highly intelligent creatures, but also the pregnant and nursing females and their baby dolphins as well. It’s really grotesque to think that these fishermen can go about this business of killing these beautiful creatures with such calousness, cruelty and unfeeling towards other creatures. If any of us saw someone do this to a dog, we would all step up and stop it, so why not dolphins who are measured as being on par with humans for intelligence and feelings

It’s really about time that we all stopped standing on the sidelines and actually do whatever each and every one of us can do, to make change. I love Japanese people. They are calm gentle people mostly, BUT I do feel strongly that I need to make a stand about this business with the killing of the dolphins AND the whales in Antarctica. It’s time for japan to come into the 21st century and outlaw the deliberate killing of all sea mammals. I urge everyone to get a note out just like I’ve done here. Tell everyone how it makes you feel. Let people know that we all need to get our voices heard. Call your local TV stations and demand more coverage of what’s going on over there. The more people that are simply aware that this is still going on, the more pressure can be brought to bear upon the International whaling commission and the Japanese government. Shame is a powerful tool in Japan. We need to make the authorities there, feel ashamed about their continued inaction on these issues. And now a moment of silence for those dolphins which were slaughtered today in Taiji…………………………………………………………………………………..
