Eddie Aikau, to Go or not to Go!

There’s all kinds of rumors running rampant around the north shore right now. Some crew even reckon the national guard is coming in tonight to road block the north shore and that it will be this way for 2 days. If that happens, what will become of the Eddie Aikau big wave surfing invitational, which is due to run tomorrow or the next day. Meanwhile, I’m trying to work out weather I should either:
a: go to Maui
and shoot what will most certainly be the biggest Sean Davey” target=”_blank”title=”JAWS”>JAWS session ever
or
b: Hang out on the north shore and shoot random this and that as it happens
or
c: Arrange a helicopter and hope that I can get to the airfield. (If they close the road off,
that’s gonna be real tough to do..) Gee, so many ways and any one of them could go wrong. I guess I’ll start of tomorrow, at Waimea Bay and see where it takes me..

In the meantime, today saw some damn good surfing going down at Backdoor

Backdoor. The 2 standouts were Dean “Dingo” Morrison and Kelly Slater who were both getting sick backdoor barrels. At the end of the day though, Dingo won that heat. :)
