A touch of Tahiti and big wave surfing

I’ve traveled to Tahiti numerous times over the years and it’s always an astonishingly beautiful place to visit. Many first time visitors will agree that it’s much like what one imagines Hawaii being like 100 years ago. Life is a simple contented existence on the land for many Tahitians, particularly out in the country areas. Folks grow their own food, they catch what they need from the ocean and much of their life revolves around contact with the ocean. In fact, it’s often better to own a boat than a car, simply because you can get a lot more done with one. The World tour surf contest is currently on in Tahiti which is why I’ve decided to put a spotlight on the place. The place has a lot of moods, but even when the weather gets ugly, there’s still moments of beauty everywhere to be seen. Enjoy these pictures…
