Depending on your taste, “This Is King Island” can either be a 120-page hard read for you or a soft cover coffee table book in your home or office. Either way, I totally recommend you check out the book and its wraparound covers.

This book chronicles many of the best images that I’ve produced from some 14 trips to King Island since 1992.

These trips were usually magazine assignments, involving professional surfers. Of the 14 trips, only a couple never quite made it to print.

For me, it’s always an exciting place photographically because it often has such awesome atmospherics. There’s always some kind of cool natural lighting happening, which suits my style of photography well.

My first two books were commercial publishings, but I chose to “self publish” this one. A lot of people had asked when I would do a book on the island, so I decided to publish the book as a tribute to King Island and its people.

This wasn’t meant to be so much of a commercial venture, but it turned out to be be my best book yet and has sold quite well, too.
